info needed on BRBs

Could someone please give me some tips on brumating BRB's? I need to know the holding temperature and humidity requirements during the brumation period. Everything I've read says to cool them, but noone tells what temp to cool them at. I do pythons, kingsnakes, & cornsnakes, but this is my first time with any boa species. Can I hold them at 55* with my other snakes? Please help. I don't want to make them sick(or worse).
Thanks,
Cricket

Cricket,
. I think 55 is so cold that your BRBs are likely to have respiratory problems. I know that BRBs can handle temperatures down to around 45 for a few hours with no problems but 55 longterm seems too cold to me. I keep the humidity high while cooling. With the lower tempeature the heaters are not evaporating moisture out of the cage and so it is easier to maintain high humidity in the cages during cooling. See my answer to your other post for my guesses about cooling temperatures.

Just wanted to thank you for answering my post. I was about to make a serious mistake. Had them down to 70* already & was going to lower it a few more degrees tomorrow. I'm slowly taking them all down to 55*, but I've now moved my BRB's into my bedroom closet. The temperature in there stays right at 68*, so I guess that's where they'll be spending their winters rest. Do I need to provide a photoperiod for them?
Thanks again,

Cricket,
. I am not sure whether photoperiod is important with BRBs. Likely not important with minly nocturnal snakes, but who knows. Everyone I know who breeds BRBs just goes with the seasonal photoperiod adjustment coming in through windows in their snake rooms.
