I would take her as soon as possible. I had a vet appointment set up before I took my python home. When I went to the vet I was told he had a skin disease and the beginnings of a ri. I am now almost done with his reg. of shots. (giving shots to snakes sucks). If I had not gotten to the vet that early there is a good chance Draco would have died...

just my $.02

I'd first ask your friend how long they had it, whether it ate, what if any health problems they noticed or treated. If the snake is not showing any symptoms (are you worried about anything?) and you set her up in a properly heated tank (to fight any unseen infections in early stages) you could let her settle in. Take a fecal sample in to check for parasites when you get one. Assuming you looked her over for mites or ticks or skin problems of course, she might do better left alone for a while.
