a couple of my snakes are on pre-killed/frozen-thawed...how might i go about getting them to take live instead. please don't waste your time or mine replying about why it's better for them to be on pre-killed...i'd rather feed live.

Simply put the mouse in with the snake. I have never seen a snake turn down live because it wants f/t.

My boa will refuse live in favor of F/T. He's a bit of a shy feeder though. He's never had an amazingly strong feeding response...though he does eat well..I think he's intimidated by the live and moving prey. He's been on F/T since he was hatched...

I would think if he gets hungry enough he would eat it anyway. If not then the only other option is probably to thump the live mouse/rat to stun it a bit. A stunned animal will still move around a bit but not as much. Maybe after doing that for a while he will get more used to living prey. I don't think there's a way to force him take live if he just isn't willing.
