Okeetee? Miami? Both? *pics*

Kestrel Dec 30, 2003 07:04 PM

Was in a local PetCo, and couldn't resist buying this guy. He's gorgeous.. Couldn't really get any perfect pictures of the color, but did my best. lol. SUPER thick black borders, very silver background, and dark red saddles. Can't be a "true" okeetee as the saddles are all wrong, but maybe it added to the borders.. The pics back the background look more orange, which its not, except for on the neck..

Nice looking animal. It certainly pays to keep your eyes peeled for those "different" looking ones. Definitely has the thick blotch borders like an "Okeetee Phase". Keep in mind that the reds and yellows won't really bloom until the snake is older. So, your baby will probably loose the light ground color as the reds and yellows blossom out with age. You won't really know how much until the snake is probably over a year or two old.

Nice find either way!!!

Nice Critter! Only time will tell if it ends up looking Miami or not. I have a female very similar. She recently escaped and is galavanting the house SOMEWHERE!!!!

I pretty sure I'll find her, after the last escapee we blocked all the little cracks/holes that could possibly lead outside. The last time someone escaped, they were gone almost three weeks, and my son ending up finding the guilty party in his desk drawer! I'll home all day tomarrow to tear my house up!
