Question about pregnant BTS

ellasmommie Dec 30, 2003 10:28 PM

Hey all, I'm a frog person myself but I work at a little reptile shop in Tampa.

We currently have a pregnant BTS and was just wondering if there were any sort of signs to look for when it's closer to her delivery. We aren't sure how far along she is, but she is VERY sausage like LOL You can see that she is quite pregnant.

Anyway, does anyone know if they usually deliver in the day, night or just anytime? And what should we look for so we know to be there to separate her from the babies?

Thanks alot folks!!!

The babies and her should be fine for a short time together. During the day usually birth is given. Careful of deep water dishes as they sometimes give birth in water and the babies can drown if not able to climb out, or the babies may try to climb in. Usually the babies to each other are the problem with tail and limb nipping, not the mother to babies.
