i have read that chaams can and will eat soil. As long as the soil has no pesticides in it or fertilizers, it is ok..
i may be wrong but i think they eat the soil to get nutrients>????
any other people know anything???
thx
Eating soil for nutrients is not a great thing. Sometimes a cham will be attracted to bright flecks in soil and shoot at them out of curiosity, but eating soil for nutrition is not what you want. They can pick up bacteria, molds, and fecal material from soil. First, check your husbandry and nutrition for possible deficiencies. You can fairly easily keep the cham from eating soil. Get some window screen and cut pieces that will cover the soil in your pots. Anchor it with pebbles. Air and water can get through, but the cham can't really pick it out.
There should be no need for them to eat soil! Maybe just me, but I think that...eating soil would be bad.

hard to make a screen protector for a pothos
I thought it was toxic but I am not sure.
There are several plants called the "Money Tree." When trying to find info on the toxicity of a plant you really need to know its scientific name. The most commonly called Money Tree is:Pachira aquatica aka Malabar Chestnut (not a true chestnut). If this is the tree you are referring to it should not pose a problem. Their nuts are edible. Keep in mind that these become very large trees.
