Circling and bobbing????

Heather Dec 31, 2003 08:33 AM

This is the first time I've ever seen them do this. I have my three Saharans together. I believe they are 1.2 but they could all be female... Not sure about Flame, the smallest one (It's only 8 inches stl... so gender is still up in the air but we're guessing male)... One of them, Ember, Pretty much ignores the other two. However I just saw Flame walk around in circles 3 or 4 times and then bob at Kindle (She's the largest of the three topping 12 inches stl)! I've never seen a uro bob before! What does this mean?? There has been absolutly no fighting or biting and any problems and they've been together for quite a while now... What does this mean??? Any ideas???

Hello,

This probably means that flame is a male. This is a courtship display. However sometimes females will also do this as a warning.

Check the underside of them. If their bellies are bright orange (or bright yellow if they are yellow saharans) with black markings then they are a male, if the underside is just a pale colour all over, then it is a female.

Flame is only 8 inches nose to tip of tail. Everytime He/She sheds, the colors brighten. But His/Her Belly is getting hints of orange to it. And sometimes I see two bumps on the underside of the tail but not always.... It's very strange.... I've tried getting pics but I don't have a digi camra and I only get those cheap one time use ones. None of the pics come out... getting very annoying.... Kinda hoping for Flame to be male.... Guess we'll find out soon enough...
