Not just a lizard, the psychological well being is absolutely essential to a healthy leo. Mine enjoys being held daily; I just put my hand in the terrarium and she walks on it by herself and licks me many times on the nose. If I do not offer my hand, she gets depressed, constipated, and suffers anorexia. And even turn somewhat darker. Which is only cured with love and handling and telling her she's cute.

It's not picking her up--she WALKS on my hand on her own.

In my case if I do not give her enough attention, she won't eat and will get weak and get sick due to depression.

Also my leo gets jealous when she sees me handle my bearded dragon (and my bearded dragon goes beserk if she sees me handle another pet--no joke--I have to take one or the other in another room so handling another pet is not seen!).

So what you have, in reality, are NOT lizards, but a house full of children and this is no exaggeration.
