To Mr. Shaky@best...

Mr. Shaky,

I've got 14 kings because "milksnake" Hillson dumped a pile of diseased, retarded snakes on me last January! LOL Just joking, of course, Keith's on the up and up...although some of the snakes seemed to have been sexually abused LOL

Seriously, I have a few too many because a good deal came my way.I love kings and will probably never have less than 6, which is a number of snakes that's easy to take care of. The problem is that I've raised most of mine from their first meal and caught a few so the question is: who has to go - not an easy decision for me at least.

To answer your question about teaching others - it's not a bad idea but if my landlord new that I had a "snake room" with 14 kings I'd be pushing a grocery cart around town (with snakes in tow) looking for a place to live! People just freak when it comes to snakes so you have to be careful. I know guys well who have just let me see their collections because of the same reason. It sucks but what can you do?

Take it easy!

-John

I believe those snakes added a level of class to your collection of the likes you have never seen LOL. Hey do you get my email ? What do you think about breeding that female Brooksi of yours ?

Keith

I had to give up several snakes due to time constaints, I wasn't able to handle them much and care in general became a chore. So now feeding, cleaning, watering, and handling are much easier due to only having three kings. I get really tempted sometimes to get more...and will in the future when some time consuming work related obligations are resolved.
It is a shame that we have to be so cautious about our snakes. I've been through the "hide the snakes from the landlord" deal before, and it surely sucks. Incidently, my city just a passed regulatory snake law because some jerk allowed his huge burmese python to escape twice, each time ending in the police being called. So now I'm supposed to register snakes that grow over three feet or so and pay a fee to keep each snake. Also, authorities are supposed to have access to my snakes for inspection at their will. Can you believe that mess?
