Hi All,

Just wanted to see what others think of saras. I have two and they are great. The books all say they are flighty and I have had people tell me saras are like day geckos. Well, mine are like puppy dogs (NOTHING like my giant day geckos or gumbies). They are about 8 months old and will stay on my hand with less effort than all my other rhacs (leachies, cresteds, aurics, and chahoua). They tend to hide more than any other rhacs, particularly when younger. But, if I take them out they are really very calm. They do move fasater than the other rhacs when trying to catch them, but its more like saying a tortoise is fast compared to a slug.

I don't handle any of my rhacs too often, but I do take them out now and then to check them out (and just be amused). The saras are very much like a large version of the crested gecko. Very easy to care for like all the rhacs. I will not be breeding these until they're 16 to 18 months old (and I get a male as I ended up with two females : ) so I can't speak on breeding ease (I've bred all the other rhacs and none are difficult), but as pets they are quite intersting. Comments?

Regards,
John
