Let me introduce myself. I have been eading this board off and on for a few months, but this is the first time I have posted here.

I have two snakes. One is a male Columbian Red-Tail (C. Impertor). The other is a female Amazon Tree Boa, not sure the phase, garden or gray I think (she's purple with a yellow and black webbed head and a distinct blk/purple pattern on her body.)

I have had the red-tail since November of 2002, adn he was no more than a few months old then. He is now eating medium rats, and is ~4' long and a couple of inches thick. He is very tame, and I handle him almost daily. His markings are quite nice, and he has a nice pink colorations, although his tail is not bright red, as I have seen.

I just aquired the ATB a couple of months ago. I was told she is a bout a year old. She is ~3' long, but very narrow, mayb 3/4" thick, and still eating fuzzies. Her personality is quite the opposite of the red-tail. I am told that these are common biters. When I first got her, she would bite everything and anything that moved. She actually struck at herself one time because she moved her tail too fast for her own comfort.

I have gotten her to a point where she can be handled with gloves for a few minutes without her striking....Maybe with more time she will be more docile, but from what I understand, it is rare to get her much more tame than where I've gotten her, currently.

These are the first reptiles I have had since I was a child, and I am finding that I enjoy them as much, maybe more, than I ever did.
