Beardie Not Eating..........

RickActor Jun 04, 2003 11:17 AM

I have male red beardie about 16" that just stopped eating. I know that he ate a LOT of superworms awhile ago, and thought he became constipated. So I soaked him in warm water and I THINK he deficated (unless it was the another one I have him with another male, same size and had no problems with them. The other (Hypo Yellow) is fine. I have 2 females in another enclosure and put the males in with them for around 15 minutes to see if they would color-up and get that black beard.... They did.... After I took them out, the Red beardie was still all fired up for the rest of the day. A that night he did the superworm OD and stopped eating the next day. Ne now looks lazy and either stays with his head in the corner, or up in his branch under the light.... If he isn't constipated any more, is there a CHANCE that he just wants to get back with the females??
Thanks In Advance,
Rick

I would just keep greens available to him today and offer crickets/silkworms to see if he takes them, if not, don't worry about it too much. If he doesn't eat anything by tomorrow, try feeding him away from the other male, someplace where he can't see him..just in case he is feeling intimidated by the other male. Separating him now may be good as then it is easier to see if he eats and poops.
