adding some colour to mortar

Icarus Dec 31, 2003 04:33 PM

(right - right - I did just post another question)
The folks at Reno Depot ("Home Depot" type place) seemed to have no clue how to add some colour to the final coats of the mortar so I'm hoping that some of you have some experience in doing so.
-----
Peter - Since when did they change the meaning of "for" to "from?"
Brian - They had a meeting about it last night.
Peter - Why wasn't I informed?
Brian - They sent you a card, but it said "For Peter" so you must have thought it was from yourself so... It's just easier to call you stupid.

This is very easy, actually. Go to a contractor supply store or a concrete company. They will sell packages of mortar dye that is easily mixed in. It was very easy for me to get various shades of natural grey, tan, and brown. My attempts at a 'red rock' look, however, failed miserably, looking an unnatural shade of pink.
