sooo went to petco yesterday... (actual question inside ^_^)

I was looking for a new dripper for my veiled and decided to look at what lizards they had that week. They had a male jackson chameleon for $99 in one (small) cage.

He looked fairly large, even a little bigger than my female veiled, and I was just curious on a couple things. Dont male Jackson's have horns? When do they start to show up? I just didnt know enough about them and was curious.

(BTW is the above a good deal? I have no room but I thought Jacksons were kind of expensive)

Happy New Years all!!!!!

1.1 Veileds Gene and Aurora
0.0.1 firebelly toad Harrold
1.0 Albino clawed frog P.C, (Prince Charming or piece of crap depending on if he's escaped that day ^_^)

Of the live-bearing jacksonii, they are all born with tiny horns, and the horns of the males will continually get bigger as time passes. Most females will retain just the small bumps - but sometimes the nose horn will get a bit bigger - just never as large as the males.

It sounds to me like this pet shop is grossly mis-informed as to the sex of the jackson they have on display.

For good info on jackson chameleons, check out this site:

Hope this helps,
