My Start with Papuans

zx7trev Jan 01, 2004 11:07 AM

These snakes are just so cool. I never see them at shows, and have no idea why. Once out of the cages, the ones I have dealt with are always very docile. They are irredescant (sp.) and can actually change colors! They get big (12-14 ft on average), but not huge, and are probably the strongest python in the world. I mean, how can you not like them? I have I figure 3-4 years before I can actually try to breed two of the three. Right now I have 1 6-ish foot WC Female, 1 4-ish Foot WC Male, and one flawless 03 CB Female about 20 inches or so. They also eat anything I give them, including thawed Turkey legs from Costco. Here are a few pics for you all to enjoy! I hope they work! Check out my other pics of them if you have a few. They are not great, but its a start!

I actually snagged her from he classifed section of this website. The breeder is a guy named John O'sheilds. He was very helpful, and shared some of his considerable knowledge on his breeding sucess with them. This baby was his last of th eseason. I am certain he will hav emore next year though. He seems like he has his system down pat. Here is a shot of her.

I have a 1.1 of 8 footers I plan on breeding them in 2006....Lately I've kinda thinking mine are a o.2 tho but its all good I know where I can find a 10 foot male. Good luck with them, they , along with retics and scrubs, are probley one of my favorite snakes just becuase they are so intelligen. They are so gentil but at te same time so amazingly stronge.

Good luck with them and keep posting pics.

did you get the baby from. I am trying as we speak to get my 1.2 breeders to go this season. I also have a male that is probably ready to go next season. I hear everything that you're saying about them. They are an awesome species, fun to work with and play with. Enjoy them and good luck in your future breeding efforts. Here is a picture of one of my breeder females from this summer.
