Crested Gecko Zeek:1.0
LEOS: Boo: 1.0 normal , Bronx & Nala: 1.1 blizzard,
Lily: 0.1 patternless, Abby: 0.1 albino, Zoe: 0.1 reduced pattern, Dot: 0.1 hypo
Chip: 1.0 papillion (small dog)
Thanks! I think the male (jungle) is really pretty! I love his pattern. The pictures were actually taken very shortly after I got them, and they were a little chilled and moving slow...hehe they're hiding out in their moist on top of each other now (it's cute!...lol), but they were pretty active when I got home from a new years party last night...and I'm sure they'll be nice and active tonight! I might try to see if I can get a shot of them eating (if they will eat). The little guys really are addicting!...I'm getting another one soon!
I love the jungle........getting one is top on my list hehehe. not that i don't already have alot of geckos but to have a jungle, bell albino, and snow just as pets would be cool

Oh, and btw...I love papillions!!! If I ever get a small dog that's the breed I'd get. Right now I have an australian shepherd/cattle dog cross...his name is foster...after the beer (I am a college student...what do you expect?) LOL
They are wonderful, very energetic dogs. Chip is quite a handful though. And you have to like noise cause they bark alot.......even when they have their mouth full of something
Chip will have his pull toy in his mouth and then bark.....its so funny
The only thing that really bothers me is his leg pain.....he's so small and so full of energy that he'll jump on and off stuff then end up laying down for a while licking his legs......i think its a small dog problem..... He's very curious about everything and him and Abby, my albino gecko would sit and stare at eachother. I wish i could have got a pic of it!!! He's terrified of mice though lol. I bought him when i was away at university for some companionship in my apartment. Despite being so small he does require alot of play time and exercise. Goodluck with yours if you get one

oh trust me...I know about high energy dogs! I'm actually a pre-vet major at school, and I got foster...well because I just couldn't stand not having a dog anymore! lol I'm actually extremely lucky with him b/c he should be a total nutcase...but he's normally very mellow! However it's VERY easy to wind him up and he'll run around in circles like a maniac! Does your little guy get pain in his front or back legs?...it could be patellar luxation, if you haven't you ought to have a vet check it out. It's a major problem in small breeds...and very painful
He's seen a vet...i believe he said arthritis. Its his front right leg that he licks all the time. He never goes lame though, just lays down licks it for a bit then is up and running around again, theres really no stopping him lol. I was thinking of getting a second opinion or at the very least meds to help but some vets are very difficult to work with, this one especially. I've butted heads with him a few times...I have issues with vets, no offence
My grandmothers dog was mutilated as far as i'm concerned.....they removed an inner part of his eyes, an extra eye lid or something....now his eyes don't water so we must clean them daily. My dogs troubles started after he jumped off the back of one of our couches.....little brat....he didn't break it but that slowed him down for a day. I dont' know what a patellar luxation is, my medical knowledge extends only to people and then its only in regards to the field i'm in. I'll bring it up to his vet on his next visit
Thanks for your input

this little thread is off topic...lol Oh I understand butting heads with vets...It's very easy to get very frustrated with a lot of them...lol Hopefully I won't be so bad! Anyway, patellar luxation is when the knee cap slips in and out of the ...I forget what it's called...but its the groove the knee cap slides up and down in when the dog moves it's leg. It's not always out, the groove is just shallow and the cap pops in and out...it's when it gets popped out that the dog will be painful. It can be in only one leg. I would get a second opinion. If it's arthritis it's likely elbow displasia (if you've heard of hip dysplasia it's like that but in the elbow). You can get meds for that...I believe rimadyl is what's used most often. Ask your vet about meds like that.
Oh...and obviously I'm not a vet yet, I'm not even in vet school yet...so don't go telling your vet that a prevet student told you that stuff...lol I doubt they would appreciate it! I'm not an expert on this stuff...but from my experience and things I've read and the like, I would think it probably is patellar luxation or elbow dysplasia (which would cause arthritis).
I won't site my source lol. We've always known it was something that should be investigated more but my vet was more concerned with my dog being fixed than looking at his leg. I'll be looking for another vet.
The one i had take a look at my gecko was wonderful...of course she was a reptile vet and didn't look at dogs.....go figure. Its like us......theres no one doctor that knows everything about all of our problems, so i can't expect one vet to know all about different animals. I wish there was though, would make things so much easier. Plus the fact that one vet is wonderful while the other just sucks.....it would be great to find one person who could take care of all of my pets....geckos and dog.
Thanks for explaining that knee thing....i get it now lol. I wonder.......can it happen to geckos too???

lol...yeah, vets are getting more and more specialized each year! It's tough to find one that treats a wide array of animals because every species is just so different. Vets have even been specializing within species for awhile now (you know...skin, eye, dental, etc. specialists). I dont' know if geckos could have the same skeletal problems as dogs...I don't know much about their skeletal structures though...lol
