Yet another Brumation question

Quickbeam Jan 01, 2004 04:20 PM

Loki is about a year old and he is definitely slowed down since the days got shorter, eating less, not as active etc.. all the normal signes of brumation. I have put various types up hides and stuff to go into in his house if he wanted to go to sleep during the day but he continues to sit up on his branch in the basking spot, though in the afternoon he tends to look a bit sleepy. If I take him out and let him run loose in the living room he invariably crawls under the foot of a standing lamp where it is nice and dark and goes right to sleep.
My question is, should I just turn out the lights in his house or what? I hate to think I'm keeping him up but don't want to deprive him of his basking spot either. He shows no interest in the dens I put in his house and I can't import his beloved lamp base

Loki has the option of going in a hide, he just doesn't want to. Just let him do what he'd doing.
He probably likes the lamp base because it is cool and dark on the floor, so he naturally thinks it's sleepy time.
