Getting started...

ex_action_figure Jan 01, 2004 05:12 PM

I am about to jump in to the world of dart frogs and I need some help
I have kept several amphibions/reptiles before but this will be my first time keeping darts and I want to go all out with the vivarium
1st I need some help figuring out every thing I need and how much it costs-can anyone help me form a list?
as far as a tank I was wondering what you guys are using? I was going to order an acrilic display tank with a front door but I already have a 30 gallon tank I was wondering is it possible and is it a good idea to use a regular tank? if so what do I do to keep up the humidity?
is there any links to step by step guides for making fruitfly cultures because I am completly lost on that
how many frogs do you think I can have in a 30 gallon? what are the best frogs for beggeners?in a 30 gallin tank can I mix certian ones? what are some good plants? whats a good substate? good fertelizers? what should I get for lights?
sorry for all the questions-
BTW I will probley order most of my stuff from black jungle.com and I own jewels of the rain forest and I am getting my info from there as well

Matt,

I'm just getting started also. As a matter of fact I just started work on my tank today. I had the same questions as you and I found all the answers by exploring this forum. Just about everything you need to know is here, you just have to look around a bit.

Good luck with your new tank!

Leif

You both can look at my link page for a ton of information. Good luck and post any questions. Most you may find a answer for by seaching the past posts.
