I just picked up a nice pair of balls about a month ago. They sure love to soak in there water dish. I have the floor nice and warm with heat tape. The water is in the low 80's. There is no sign of mites. Do your snakes soak this much?

Mine never has, but I've heard others say there's do. If you've ruled out mites for sure, your temps on both sides are correct, humidity is in range, etc - I wouldn't worry too much.

My snake goes through phases of soaking. Some weeks she does it everyday other times none at all. She actually hasnt soaked in a about a month. Also, sometimes they soak a lot to help the passing of some feces. They have their reasons for soaking and not soaking. Hope this helps.

maybe your temps are too hot on the hot side, and they are seeking refuge in the water dish which is a good temp.
My BP hardly ever soaks... only when he is going into shed. Might just be the snakes personal preference, but dont let him be in there 24/7 because prolonged soaking is not good healthwise.
