Shedding

bratzler Jan 01, 2004 06:40 PM

My first leopard gecko is in the process of shedding for the first time since I've had her. I have provided a humid hide and rough surfaces to help her out. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? Also, she finally went to the bathroom on Sunday, for the first time since I had gotten her. I was relieved because I thought she might be impacted. However, she hasn't gone since then. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks.

u should spray her with water a little bit to help losen the skin off.and make sure that u help her get all the shed off of her toes so they dont end up falling off.

Not sure if you should do this.. I dont know if its just my LEO's, but they hate getting sprayed with water. And it can actually stress them out a little.. And since you haven't had this LEO that long, it probanly still needs to get used to evrything. I've never had any problems with them shedding. Its really nothing to worry that mutch over, as long as you have a humid hide, and make sure what-ever kind of substrate you have in there is wet/soaked... I would say that moss-stuff is really the best.
