looks like Tantilla coronata (Southeastern Crower Snake)....could be wrong....just my guess...

Sneaky quiz, snake is found overseas. Elapid.
Black Hooded snake - Tantilla rubrica cucullata
Looks kind of close, but not even related.
Its a calliophis, a long glanded coral snake from malaysia or indonesia
oops meant to say matachopa (sp?) anyway is a long glanded snake lol
I could cheat by looking it up, but I will guess one of the snakes in the genus Furina or some other small Australian Elapid.

I got the genus right, but had no clue as to species. It looks like an Orange-naped Snake (Furina ornata).
Chris was very close with Furina ornata, but it was actually the Red-naped Snake (Furina diadema). Photo was taken from http://www.qmuseum.qld.gov.au/features/snakes/snakedetail.asp?TaxName=Furina diadema
