I am very concerned about my male albino boa.He is about 7 months old and just last week i noticed a change in his personality. He is very lathargic[lazy],he has not eaten in almost 3 weeks and has a lump midway down his body. When I set him down on the floor he just stays put and moves his head around.I took him to a vet here in Little Rock and she had never heard of IBD,but after examining him and doing some research said 'possibly'!NEED HELP.Please respond. Thanks,J.

How big of a meal was it that you last fed him. I ask because of the "lump" you mentioned. Just wondering if by chance it is still the leftover meal in him.
As far as him being "lazy" who is to know for sure. I have put my snakes on the ground, I have had them just move their head around at times as well.
I would defenately keep an eye on him.

` If you have removed your Boa from its heat source, especially while it's digesting, that could be your problem. Cold floors draw the heat out of a little snake quickly. I've dealt with lots of sick snakes which were put on the floor, or the ground, or concrete, while digesting.

well if its IBD there is nothing you can do as it is incurable.

and the only way you can be certain it has IBD is after it dies get it to a vet as soon as possible, do not freeze but keep it cool and get a necropsy *sp* done on it.

if its IBD i hope that it has not had contact with any of your other snakes if you have any as its very contagious.
