Just a few curious questions....

How big of a cage would a gila thrive in???

What facinates people with gilas???

I prefer animals I can interact with...why a gila??? why not a monitor or an iguana or a frilled dragon...something less dangerous...

Basically I'm wondering what attracts people to these animals...don't get me wrong, I think they are wonderful but I could never picture myself owning one...

I'll jump in. Cage-size the bigger the better, but at least 3-4 feet. As far as the appeal, each to his own. Gilas are unique looking, most are beautifully colored. The combination of size and color is impressive. They have a dinosaur-like appearance, and are interesting to watch. You can interract with them, even hold them, with reasonable caution. The challenge of breeding them will appeal to the advanced herper. I enjoy my collection of them immensely.
