Humidity level?

mbdorfer Jan 02, 2004 11:13 AM

What is an acceptable/ideal percentage. My 03 alterna last shed Nov 12. I never saw his eyes cloud, just got dark, ligthened and shed. He has been dark for 3 weeks now, stll no cloudiness in the eyes. He accepts food(fuzzies) eagerly, but does not like to be handled. I think he should have shed by now. The humidity is around 60%
Thanks in advance

I have always kept small plastic containers with damp sphagnum moss in them with all my kingsnakes. Then they can choose what humidity level they want when they want it. They always use them during shed cycles. If you cut a small hole in the top they can find their way in or out and the moss boxes will retain moisture better.

Good luck.

Thanks, as it turned out he shed yesterday. Just seemed like an unusually long time for such a young snake
