Possible future Monsterous Kings !!!!!

Keith Hillson Jan 02, 2004 11:29 AM

I swear this thing is gonna be huge ! Its my Georgia male Eastern Kingsnake hatched by Will Still. I just measured him at a tad over 31" ! He doesnt get powerfed and gets the same amount of food that his sister gets. I feed them about 3 pinks every 5-6 days and have been switching to fuzzies on the male as he is getting long but not bulky. I guess he puts all of his growth towards length and not bulk ?? The female on the otherhand is super thick and bulky but she is only 24" long or so. This male was born at the end of August I think (I have to check with Will Still). If so he is only 4 months old.

He has great genes as his Grandfather is Kevin Enge's 6'+ Statenville, Georgia Eastern King.

His Grandmother is Kevin's Tift, Georgia locality female Eastern. I believe she is in the 5-6 foot range.

Will Still got a pair of Easterns from Kevin a number of years ago from these two Easterns and that what his stock is . Here they are both are pretty big from what Will says. This Mom and Dad to my pair.

we've talked some on this forum, re: the albino chain king line, about the presence or absence of strong "chaining" patterns on the sides...the lateral bands splitting prominently--or not--as they approach the venter. Some people argued that the lack of strong lateral chaining on some of the albino chain kings was evidence of their not being L.g.getula. But I notice the adults in this thread, all apparently documented getula getula, all seem to lack any significant band-splitting. There sure is a lot of variability in L.g.g.

Yep. Seems the more banded Easterns are for the most part in Georgia and into Florida a bit. I have seen a couple of banded type individuals from NC as well.

High guys,

Keith, as I was looking through the hets, I found my high chained male was not in shed. This guy has an even, high chained pattern from head to tail. His sibs have distinct chain patterns, but nothin like this kid. His daddy is my albino (of unknown locale) and his momma is one of my orange, abberant F2 Georgia females. He will (hopefully) breed one of his similar looking sisters in '05 to create some red/orange and white albino easterns. Thanks for looking. Oh yeah, sorry for the crappy shot, but this boy will not sit still for a pic.

Will
