basking spot problem

dagangsta Jan 02, 2004 12:34 PM

ok, i have a young bd, i bought both a 50 and 75 watt spot bulbs for the basking spot, the 50 only gets it to about 105, and the 75 gets it to about 135, i'm wondering which of these i should go with, and if i did just use the 75 wouldn't he just move if it got too hot? thanks in advance for your help

Can you move the basking spot higher or lower to increase or decrease temps? You could try using the 50 watt since it's right on for the basking temp. If you want it a little warmer (110 degrees) you can move the basking spot higher or lower the lamp. I wouldn't risk burning the dragon with a 135 degree basking spot.

I think 135 is too hot for a beardeds basking spot. You could either try getting a 60 watt or raise or lower the basking spot or bulb.
