Just a few Qs

Priest Jan 02, 2004 03:46 PM

I got a young beardie last Tuesday and despite what everyone said, he was eating loads of crix the first day. Any way, yesterday he pooped and stopped eating. If I let a few crix run in front of him, he wouldn’t eat them, I can hold them in front of his face and he still won’t eat them (which he did the first 2 days). I thought he just wasn’t hungry but he still isn’t eating today. Should I worry, or could this still be stress from the move?

Also about making him drink, I have been spraying him twice a day until he stops licking his lips and spraying the plants and log for him to lick it up. Is there any other way to do it? I was wondering if they will drink out of those bottles that stick to the wall and drip water slowly. If anyone thinks he’ll drink from that I’ll pick one up (and still spray him of course)

Don't be too concerned about the not eating just yet.
As far as the drinking, try using a eyedropper and drip water on his nose. They get alot more water that way.
I've heard of people using the hamster type drippers but i don't actually know anyone that has made it work.

The bottle I was talking about wasn't like a hamster bottle, it's a plastic container with a little tube that drips water down into a dish. The constant drip is suppose to simulate water movement. I was wondering if they would drink from the dripping water.

eh, if it won't work, I'm not going to cry about it.

Sorry, don't know if they work or not. They also make those dishes that vibrate.
