I just want to say I love Steve-O', (I think we all do) but I think he's gonna feel the heat on this one. Any body else care to comment on this topic?

Didn't catch it, what happened?
Well, I was as work today and walked into the employee cafe, and there was Steve, with his new baby in his left arm, and in his right arm was some kinda meat. He feeding one of his crocs in his zoo and I think the footage was from a tourist. Looked very bad I'm sorry to say. I know Steve would've sacrificed himself-if anything should have happened-but footage like that isn't very positive for any of "us." I hope Steve can overcome this in a positive way.
Eeesh, I don't know about all that. Not good.
Here's a link with a picture on it :

I havn't seen a host molest and stress animals as much as he does and its all for his own image. I don't believe he puts the animals well-being first, or his kids apparantly. Dragging every venomous snake he finds by their tails isn't necessary. I wonder what kind of manhandling they edit out of that show. I'd rather see them left alone, like filming the in a natural environment undisturbed, but thats just me.
I like Steve too, but this was a very stupid move. I hope his wife belts him one.
We have all done stupid things before, but this is really bad. You should never gamble with something you can't afford to lose. The baby should never have been out there.

his wife saw nothing wrong with it and was laughing..
His wife is an idiot with no mind of her own.
... I think he will face a lot of trouble with this action.
I also think that acting like that only feeds the prejudice of the people.

Beware of Commies and Mutts!
` Irwin is just a showman, using/abusing animals, and now his baby, to create sensational entertainment. Much of his information is incorrect, and biased toward what he wants to believe. The man is predictable and boring. Sometimes, I watch his programs with the sound off, as some of the photography is good. He is very hard on the animals, and now he has endangered his son. He is a moron.

That was an idiotic blatantly stupid move and social services should consider taking his children and placing them in a foster home. And I know alot of you will say that this is too harsh, but lets look at it this way...I had a 14' burm, should I have held my infant daughter while feeding the burm...but instead of using tongs and feeding her in the enclosure I will pull her out of the enclosure and then feed her bare handed... Sound like an intelligent GOOD parent would do something like this?

You never experience life until you have kids..then you realize what you should have done rather then what you did do
Well, very harsh I would say. Not going to argue this as it's not worth arguing about, just going to share my point of view on your statement. Okay, first off I view it as very foolish and ill thought out. Now that we agree on that. There are many things parents do with their children that will be viewed as hazardous to a child by others. Such things include, but are not limited to...bicycles, ATV's, motorcycles, BB Guns, Actual live ammuntion rifles, jet skis, snowboards, let kids mow the yard, walk down the side walk alone, etc. Now one can argue that this is not the same, but in fact it is very similar. Any of the above listed things could easily result in the death of a child, same as what could've happened in this situation-Right? So, should DCFS take away people's kids for anything parents do that is considered stupid? The kid is more than likely provided food, shelter, medical care, and most importantly love from both parents, regardless of how blatantly dumb this act seems to have been. Regarding his background, I would say he is well suited to this environment, and he is sharing his passion with his children. As foolish as it might appear, don't you think this was more his intention than bringing harm to his child? If you have children of your own, do you try to involve them in the things you enjoy? I know I certainly do. What if you were visited by DCFS because you let your child hold a reptile...seemingly harmless, but could carry salmonella thus causing your infant child to fall ill, and potentially die? And all this because you, loving your child, wanted to share your passion for reptiles with them. Don't think there's people out there that think this way??? Well, like I said, I'm not going to argue at all on this, just sharing my opinion as you did yours. In the end I'm sure neither of us is right, just two people with two different OPINIONS....nothing else! Take care!
Wow. Awesome post. N/P
I was in an arguementative mood when I read/saw the footage/article and I will admit that I was a bit "harsh" in my opinion/statement.

steve o is my idol but i think that was a stupid thing to do. (is it his baby? i didnt know he had another one.
In this corner Michael Jackson dangling his son over the balcony of a hotel in this corner we have Steve Irwin daring to feed a croc with one hand while handing a baby in the other! Thats the image that came to mind. Who would win? Any way I think theres a little over reacting here folks. Its probably more dangerous to strap a baby in the backseat of a car and head out on the highway and most people do that. So big deal. Steve knows his animals he wouldnt have done that if he thought it was dangerous. Hes just an excited Dad to have a boy to carry on his legacy although I admit one month old? Is there a child labor law that covers working that young lol does he get royalties when that clip of him is shown he might be set for life already. I started to work for my Dad when I was 5 but it seems the little Irwin kid has me beat! Come on give me a break. I also think Steve is pretty humane to the animals despite what some think.
dangling babies over a balcony or in front of a croc isn't sound business for any self-respecting parent, mate!
Several years ago, I interviewed Irwin for a magazine article about saltwater crocs and surfers. When he's not amped up in front of the camera, Steve comes off as a passionate and intelluctual guy regarding the plight of animals. I was surprised he didn't use better judgement in this situation of using his child in a what could only be called a stunt.
I also don't like how Steve Erwins manhandles animals as others have posted, but I think he knows a little more about what he is doing than ANYONE else, on or off this forum. The world has too damn many wimps and woosies - why we are such easy targets for terrorism, etc. Life was not meant to be "safe" - never was, never will be, and never should be. The poor human race is loosing its backbone....
