Looks pretty nice! Too bad they'll grow out of it pretty soon...

tokay_dude1 Jan 03, 2004 03:09 AM

yeah..luckily i have a 30gal for them when they reach they're max, size

nasr_36 Jan 03, 2004 09:00 AM

30 gallons isnt going to cut it, id go for something along the lines of 80 . I'd just make my own tank instead though.

You really should have known what your getting yourself into when you got the tokays! They are not small geckos.

i've had these particular tokays each for 3 years now and i have kept tokays for almost 4 years now..i know what im doing and i know how big they get a 30 gal is big enough for 3 of them im planning on getting 2 more females and when i do..there will be a 110gal tank waiting for them

nasr_36 Jan 03, 2004 01:30 PM

Why dont you just put your tokays in the 110 until. 20 gallons is laughable for 3 adult tokays. I actually thought you were joking.

It is your animals, and you can do whatever you want with them. Just remember; YOUR not the one whos suffering.

HAHA sorry that just made me laugh
first off..the 110 gal needs to be cleaned
second there is nothing in it
third there is no top
fourth i have had the 3 of them in is tank for only a week now..
there is no reason why the tank is to small for them like i said..i have tad tokays for a while i know how big they can get
im not a newbie so please dont assume it..people on this forum are so quick to assume ~shakes head~
fifth they we're upgraded to a 40gal high tank today

"first off..the 110 gal needs to be cleaned"

Uh...so clean it....? Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that out. I guess some people do need further explanation, huh?

"second there is nothing in it"

Plants and wood are all you need

"third there is no top"

Get one.

"fourth i have had the 3 of them in is tank for only a week now.."

>>i've had these particular tokays each for 3 years now and i have kept tokays for almost 4 years now..

WOW, i seriously hope they werent housed in smaller enclosure for 4 years. Sad...

Well, i made assumptions, considering the idiotic posts you made on the leopard gecko forum before oh so called NoCtUrNal_GeCkO. Im not going to link it, because i dont want to "argue" with you anymore. Truely, you do sound like a newb.

ROFL, nice try buddy. Your tanks dont look like the ideal setup for tokays to me anyway. Try adding plants, or something...
Again, you can do whatever you please. All i said, was that tank is too small for them. Dont be so sensitive. Lighten up.

I never thought I would say this but nasr 36 is right.I don't really like nasr 36 because of his jerkynes but he is right.I have my tokay in a ten gallon but soon a 30.I dont think tokays need a huge tank though its better to give them one.I used to have mine in 75 g and I never saw it move around. So i keep him in 10 for now.Yr pic looked okay but more plants is better, but the truth is both of u are acting like childs. If u are real men u will apologize and realize u both have diffrent appionons.

P.S-What lizards do u mix Nasr 36???????

For Shame u 2

nasr_36 Jan 03, 2004 10:33 PM

What lizards do i mix? None, why do you ask?

Herper123 Jan 04, 2004 11:16 AM

In a differnt post u said u did...........................

nasr_36 Jan 04, 2004 10:20 AM

Oh, if your asking if i mix 'anything', i once mixed a juvi Brookesia minima with a pair of Dendrobates azureus in a 80g. Not lizards, but i think thats what you asked.

I am sorry to have to repeat this. Tokays do survive and breed in the tiniest cages. But they are agil runners of more than 1 ft. So everything smaller than 65g should be considered mucgh too small and "comfortable" may begin at 200g.
I do keep and breed tokays since 21 years 8a 5 year gap in betrween) and thats my definite conclusion.
You may raise juvies in small tanks which makes it easier to let them calm down and become fearless.
But adulrts need space. My smalles tank for adult tokays is 200g. And I do not have the impression they have more space than needed.
