My yearling shed... it's my first time!

I'm so excited! (it doesn't take much nowadays)
Her skin came off in two pieces... eyecaps and all. There was a little piece of skin left at the tip of her tail, and we helped her out a bit!
I have a question for those of you who have snakes OTHER than corns...
My husband is itchin' for a bigger snake, and we have been looking at pythons and boas online. We're looking for something docile (we have 2 children) and 6ft or less, when it is full grown.
Any suggestions from you guys?
I love our corn (she's a flourescent orange), and I also want to get a motley sunglow! I'm hooked!
Can anyone lead me in the right direction when choosing a bigger snake.
Thanks,
Mindy

I just went through the same thing. Bought a corn - fell in love with snake keeping - bought a Ball Python. They're awesome. Small, docile, and beautiful. Reed many care sheets first, but then get a Ball Python. You won't be sorry.

I love boas! They are soooo cool. My boa loves to wrap herself around my arm. If she is in the same room as I am, she'll go crazy trying to crawl over to me. (She knows who pretects and feeds her!). When I talk to her, she looks me right in the eyes and listens while I tell her how pretty and smart she is. (Does that sound like a female or what?)

I'd recomend a cay caulker boa or a male Dummeril's Boa. They are very, very nice boas.

Thanks! See? I'd never even HEARD of a Cay Caulker! They are so nice looking! I'll tell ya, these forums are awesome for people who KINDA have a clue, but need more info! (Like me!) I have learned so much, just reading through the posts on this site!
I appreciate your response... please keep them coming!

I am glad I could help. You might check out rosy boas, rubber boas and sand boas. They all stay small.

You might consider a red tail (BCI). Males are usually smaller than femails and they are sooooo cool. I have a female and I worry about how large she'll get but she is a cool snake.

COOL! I started with a corn and now have 2 corns, a milk and a Jungle Carpet Python. Go for a JCP. I wanted a bigger snake to after having corns and was checking out alot of boas and pythons. I liked the looks of a JCP. They are so neat with the black and yellow. I also decided to get one because even though they can get 6-8 feet they are not as big around as some boas. So that is a 'handable' size. Not like a bermese or retic that get 15-20 feet. I am very happy with my JCP!

Do you know of any good breeders out there with JCP's? I am really interested...
Thanks!
