miami or normal?

griffin Jan 03, 2004 03:15 AM

I am looking for a picture of a baby/juvenile miami corn. Anybody have one they could post? I am wondering if my brother's corn snake is a Miami (that's what it was sold as) or if it is, in fact, a normal. I know babies can look quite different from adults. I will try to post a picture of her tomorrow, if that would help, or for opinions.

thanks,
griffin

I looked through what I had uploaded already and here are some of my hatchling Mimai pics....

Same snake as pic directly above, after a few months of putting on color. Weird pic I know, I was trying to get a belly shot at the time.

There are varying qualities of Miami, and how much "background" color a Miami can have before it is no longer a Miami depends on personal opinion. Much like the Okeetee thread above. That one looks like it is a Miami that just isn't as clean. However, hatchlings can change a lot as they grow, she is not big enough to say what her adult color will be. I have seen hatchlings like that get better grey as they get older, and I have seen some that gain so much color they end up being normals. The one in the pic could go either way, or even stay the same. So only time will tell, my guess is that she will be a Miami with some light tan mixed in with the grey. Pretty snake!
