Locale Cal.King Pic...

jeph Jan 03, 2004 03:40 AM

Hi,
I took this pic of my female Reche Canyon cal.king right before she wint into hibernation. She is much bigger in person, and this pic makes her look smaller. I collected her in june of '03-(legally with a fishing lisence) hopefully in spring I'll find a male for her. Anyways, just wanted to share the pic,

Hi Kieth,
First off, I'd like to say that you have great pics on that eastern king site, I love that site. I dont have any easterns but maybe someday. All those pics make me think I'm seeing them out in the wild. Thats how I like pics to look too. But yeah, she is pretty yellow. The cool thing about her is that her brown is so dark, almost black at times, in the sun she has very nice shine to her, hopefully i can find a male sometime that looks like her.

I think those coastal yellow and brown cal kings put any of desert phase snakes to shame. Beautiful animal!

You are not alone Chris. I live in Bakersfield, CA and although the high white/black Cal Kings are very nice, I love seeing a good yellow/dark brown contrasting Cal King.
