European Pond Turts.

turtlemix21 Jan 03, 2004 03:46 PM

I currently have 1.1 European pond's and am interested in trying to breed them in the spring?? I have already caught them mating several times and am positive I have a male and female. But can not find a whole lot of info on them?? Does anyone know links or sites that can help me learn more about them or possibly breeding info?? Thanks in advance. Matt

there is a paucity of onfo on this topic on the web (at least in English anyway)but i know a few things and i know some folks who have had many breeding successes.

Cool down does seem to generally be necessary (but if they are already "goin at it" you've no need for this.

There seems to be some concern that females Emys are picky nest builders, often needing many choices and abandoning nests with some frequncy.
