Cage Size For A 2 Month Old Veiled

Syd Jun 04, 2003 04:00 PM

I have a question about the cage size for a 2 month old male veiled. Is a 175 ga. reptarium too big of a cage to place a 2 month old veiled in? It would be his permanent home and he could settle in and get comfortable in it. Or should I have a smaller reptarium and then move him to the 175 ga. when he is a little bigger? Thanks

Depends on how big he actually is and how you're going to feed. I do a combo of cup feeding and free ranging to allow my chameleons a bit of a hunt. A 175 reptarium might be too big for your little guy to find all those little prey items he needs if you're free ranging. Plus, you shouldn't leave crix with him overnight (nasty things, those crix!).
I would suggest getting him a smaller enclosure for now.
Just my opinion.

i would also keep him in a smaller enclosure, it will be easier to heat/light and find him too. it was hard enough to find mine in a 50 gallon cage.

yeah i dont think you will be able to find your cham in that cage with out looking really hard.

either way i would suggest getting it to cup feed, but you should put him in a smaller reptarium till he is liek 4 months old

What size enclosure do you guys suggest? I don't want to get one that is too small. What size is a happy medium sized enclosure? Thanks.
