This is his girlfriend to be making use of her climbing branches which they often do. I feed mine thawed mice but if I put the mice on the floor of their cage and make them move with a long stick while the snakes are up in the branches they will strike down, pulling the mice up in the branches. They will then coil around them and then swallow them all while hanging in one of their branches just as a green tree python would do.

I'm not sure exactly what type of habitat flavirufa resides in, but I'm pretty sure it's more forested than most of the other Elaphe, except obsoleta, of course. Senticolis triaspis lives in rocky, deserty, thorn-scrub, and doesn't climb all that much. Thus these two are quite different in ecology. Neat snakes. Happy New Years.
