Coastals & IJ Carpets $$

skubasteve Jun 04, 2003 04:11 PM

What can I expect to pay for either a Coastal or IJ Carpet Python?

What are some good breeders and does anyone know if these will be available at the San Diego show next month?

What would be a better species to get started with Carpets?

Thanks, Skubasteve

Coastals I am not sure probably 100 or a little more for a really good one. Irian Jayas are going to run you between 100-150 for anything worth looking at. The size difference between those is huge with coastal being much bigger 7-10 feet average. Irian Jayas would probably be a good place to start as they stay relatively small, have good temperments, and arent very expensive (neither are coastals) I can tell you if you want a good Irian Jaya, Yasser from spitfire reptiles produces some of the, if not THE best I have seen. He has some posted right now in the classified and though they might be a little more than some you find cheap at shows you will definetly get what you payed for when buying any type of Carpet. hope I could help.
