what does everyone think about steve irwin holding his 1 month old while feeding croc?

gretzkyrh4 Jan 03, 2004 06:42 PM

Hi all,
I don't personally own any crocodilians but was wondering what all of you folks who do think about steve irwin holding his 1 month old son Bob, while feeding a large crocodile during a demonstration at his zoo? It seems like a good majority of the general public is very upset with him saying he put his child in serious danger. So what does everyone think?

I'm a Croc Hunter fanatic, but i don't recall steve ever having a son. Just his like 5 year old daughter Bindi. Maybe you got confused as steves dad is bob. and most the video footage of bindi is when she was a baby. Or maybe i'm the one way off. i need some help on this one.

oh never mind i read it on the herp news thing. As for what i think of it is that people should minde their own buseness. i mean i would not do it, but i haven't got the years of experience like he does. Michael Jackson!! the people that brought that up are total moronic jerks. Things like this just spark anger with me. i'm going to go ahead and shut up before i really get to going.

I also don't like how Steve Erwins manhandles animals as others have posted, but I think he knows a little more about what he is doing than ANYONE else, on or off this forum. The world has too damn many wimps and woosies - why we are such easy targets for terrorism, etc. Life was not meant to be "safe" - never was, never will be, and never should be. The poor human race is loosing its backbone....

well said, My opinion exactly. People always look at animals that cn harm us and call them killers. The real killers are people, cars and polution. Off topic but i wanted to say that to get it off my chest. sorry.

If he wants to act like an ass and put himself in harms way for the betterment of his own career, (which he does with great frequency) that's his own business. But when he puts a defensless, 5 week old baby in the same situation, he's gone WAY over the line! It was not only unprofessional, it was extremely irresponsible...all in the name of sensationalism.
What an ego this guy has to feed.

All he needed to do was trip or fall backwards and there goes the kid. Also he wasn't supporting the neck. And by the way it is his kid, it's been all over the news they just had a baby boy a month ago.

Steve Irwin is a show man, not a serious herpetologist or zoo man.
And, as Adam Britton said in the croclist:He did a big mistake. I agree with Adam.
