Monitor Loses Toe...

darrylv Jan 03, 2004 07:22 PM

Hey guys,

I saw a great Sumatran Water Monitor today and it had a disfunctional toe from some accident (Not caused by the employees of the pet store, but from the monitor itself), the pet store owner told me he was going to take it to a vet to get it checked out and could probably lose the toe. Do you think this will affect his health, diet, or temperament???

Thanks for the help,

Darryl

Hey,
No it shouldnt affect it at all but if there is old shed left on it get it off quickly just because if there is skin left it will constrict the blood flow of the toes and the toe will eventually die and lead to infection. But yeah it should affect it at all its normal. I have a savanna with one missing toe and few missing toe nails, a broken (rehealed unproperly) toe and a stubby tail. Hes an old feller thats been through alot but hes a sweetheart.

Good Luck
Justin Morash
