getting dragons to drink..... works with everyone of ours

CheriS Jan 03, 2004 11:41 PM

We just found this out this week and it works with every dragon we have, even ones that do not like water.

Fill a plastic tub with about 2 inches of water, place the dragon in your hand and lower it to the tub, but still on your hand, not the dragon in the water and move the water in front of the dragon slightly with your other hand..... each time the dragons lean down and drink really well!

I have to try that tomorrow - right now both my females are asleep in my sofa under a wool blanket (far apart from each other, Disa can't stand Teo!) But I doubt that Teo will drink that way..! When she sees just a tiny little bit of water - she panics. Like it is gonna jump on her or something… If it is not the water from the tap in the bathroom sink... Then it is ok for some strange reason…

I hold her over the sink and make a thin stream of water, and just barely touch her nose to it and she knows to drink, she will usually drink in three short sessions, when is dosent take anymore we are done, she turns her mouth into the water and out when she is done. it works very well, my male dakota wont do it yet but eats his greens well and i mist them so he gets more water in his diet.
