I picked up an ornate

newherpaddict Jan 04, 2004 08:32 AM

I bought an ornate from regal reptiles at the maryland show yesterday. Is it ok if he hasnt eaten right away. And is it ok to use desert blend litter. I'm a little worried cause it was only 160$ and i remember them being 300$ at pottstown.Ill try to get a pic up soon. Any name suggestions, its probably a male but it is still very young. I know its probably a no but is it ok to house with an egyptian tortoise temporaraly if my ball python(M.I.A.)shows up.

I just bought one from Regal last week at the store so they probably came from the same batch. Mine ate right away and still is eating great. He dug a burrow already and is very active. I am very satisfied with him. Just keep the temps up and he should be fine. I'll try to get a better picture of mine.

Awsome looking little guy. I hope Regal has some left for the NY show this weekend. I might be in the market, it depends if I see any nice Rhacs there...lol.

Hello,

Don't worry, they usually don't eat straight away.

Yes, you can keep him with an Egyptian Tortoise, we keep Egyptian Uromastyx with the Egyptian tortoises at the zoo.

After I came home from school he ate, dug a pit, perked up and is more active, and has better colors.
