If a Leo is impacted.. other than removing sand is there anything I can do for him?

people giving warm baths and dropper feeding olive oil or flax oil or vegetable oil to lubricate the intestines
Have not encountered problem myself

thanks. i just actually went to a pet store out of the city that a guy i know works there and owns and breeds leos.. he told me the same thing. give him a warm bath, which i just did. i didn't know for how long but well see. i got him some smaller crix then larges too, possibly easier for him to eat right now..

If his impacted, if his not already dehydrated he surely will be.. Itīs VERY IMPORTANT that you make him drink.. But it can be hard.. The best thing to do is to go to the vet & let them rehydrate him directly under the skin.. Itīs the fastest thing to do, trying to give him water orally takes sooooooo much longer & often the animal doesnīt make it..
The fluids helps the impaction to loosen up so he can poop it out..
Bathe him for about 30 mins at a time..
& if he is impacted, DON`T feed him until itīs gone.. It can worsen the impaction..
I donīt know what itīs called in english, but here in sweden itīs "paraffin" oil for animals.. You can by it at the drugstore.. But it can work with other oils too..
