Candoia Jan 04, 2004 12:55 PM

Hello all, I was just visiting the retic forum and heard that Baby was supposedly dead?? I didn't hear anything about that. I figured you guys would know for sure. Thanks for any update.

Not that I heard, and I live in IL, so I am sure it would have been in the papers.

I don't know either, however, I do know of people who visited where the staff introduced her as "Baby", however, the burm in the enclosure was only about 16' (max)....hmmmmm.

Hey Rob, it's Nick. Anyways, I posted in the Retic forum a response to the same question. I do not know for sure, but when I was there (about 2 months ago) they started the speech on their huge 27 foot, 403 pound burm named Baby. As the crowd was gasping, I was appalled to see a Burm that was most likely not even 15 feet. Nobody else seemed to notice. This is obviously not conclusive evidence to her death, but I do not know where else she would be.

Hi,
I agree with that assessment.I am so sick of the complete BS of all these claims concerning lengths of Burms and Retics.I currently own both species and my goal is Longevity records not Length records. The rate some of these snakes are fed and grown is apalling also. What about internal organs from a scientific standpoint?I'm starting to RANT. Anyway is your facility in Lake Forest ever open for people to see?

Carmichael Jan 06, 2004 10:48 PM

Yes, we are in Lake Forest (IL) and yes, we are indeed open to the public. If you want an updated listing of days/times we are open drop me an email or call me at 847-615-4388. We feature a very beautiful and large burmese python (18' and over 275 pounds....well proportioned, excellent muscle tone and NOT overfed). The other post (Mancuso) is Nick who is one of my staff.
