this might sound stupid but does any1 ever think of usin oak plywood(maybe sandblasted) to use as bkground in a cage? especially a large one since it might be cheaper

this might sound stupid but does any1 ever think of usin oak plywood(maybe sandblasted) to use as bkground in a cage? especially a large one since it might be cheaper
I'd be afraid to try that as plywood panels are usually held together with adhesives that aren't water resistant. The only way I can think of doing this would be to seal the panels off with an epoxy enamel but then you lose the natural grain look of the wood.

Bill is right. Oak plywood would come unglued and warp. You could of course finish it with a marine varnish, which might not look too bad if you could find a flat marine varnish. They all seem to be high gloss though.
