SAVING TREE FROGS-- NEED HELP & INFO

JDBLACKDOG Jan 04, 2004 02:54 PM

I've had to rescue the last 5 green tree frogs from our mostly drained pool. Tonight & tomarrow will be below freezing. These guys are about the size of a half inch cricket. Thier tails hve just recently gone. I can house them fine, but what can they be fed? Is thier any other concerns I should be aware of? Any help would be greatly appriciated!

You can probably keep these dudes in a 10 gallon since there so small. But when bigger will need a 20 gallon. You need a nice moist substrate such as eco earth or bed a beast, plants, and a water dish. If your looking for a simple tank that easy to clean you can just put moist paper towel as the substrate. Right now they probably need pinhead crickets or the next size from pinheads. They will also eat baby mealworms. When they get bigger you can start feeding them bigger foods. Also Make sure that there tank maintains a constant high humidity level and that there water dish gets cleaned at least once a day.
Hope I could help you a little.

Thanks for the help on the tree frogs, they are White's tree frogs(we didn't know at first). And their doing pretty good, they like their new home. We are feeding them Fruit Flies(wingless fruit flies). We are trying to take pictures.
Thanks,
Christian

Thanks for replying. The above message was written by my 9 year old daughter. She has taken on the primary role of care giver. (DadMoms help of course)
