Here is a picture of the outdoor cage my boyfriend built for my beardies. It is made from PVC pipe and pet net and attached with rivets and velcro. It was cheap, easy and they love it. It's not a permanent home - just where they stay when they have their outside time. I messed up the html and couldn't upload all the pics, so either look in the gallery for more or go to OutSide Cage

When you make one you might want to limit visibility.

I thought I was doing my guy a favor and built him an elaborate 5' x 3' outdoor cage but he wasn't used to seeing all that outside has to offer (birds, squirrels, cats, dogs, etc). He was a nervous wreck (always on guard) so I moved him back in and put on some panels so that the top is open and one side. No matter, seems like he is still much happier inside even after he had time to adjust to being outside in a new bigger cage. He's calmer inside.

REPTARIUM's are a good option. Low cost, collapsable and you can lay a towel over 3 sides.
