bd and pinkies??????

i was reading one of my bd bookis and saw pinkies and they showed abd eating one. no1 ever told me that bd eat pinkies. i never feed one to mine shouldf i start bc i heard they are high in fat. do i feed them to my bd or not do any of you????

No you probably shouldn't feed them to your beardie because they carry alot of parasites and like you said are very high in fat.

Pinkies are generally used for gravid females and those females that lose quite a bit of weight after laying a few clutches.

They are not good to feed often and for an "average" dragon, a once a month treat would be fine.

There really isn't any need to feed pinkies to bearded dragons. The occaisonal one would be nice as a treat but unless there is some speciall reason to feed them pinkies (female just finished laying eggs, to regain weight loss due ot illness etc) there isn't any need to do so.

I fed my bearded one pinky and though she eventually ate it but with the difficulty of getting live pinkies at any given time (unless you breed mice), and since there is real no need, I would recommend not bothering at all. A few waxworms now and again would work just as well.
