Help with Veiled Eggs!

Anthonyd Jan 04, 2004 08:21 PM

My female veiled just layed her eggs, and is filling in her tunnel as I type. How long should I wait before I go in and take out the eggs? Also, what is the best temperature to keep the eggs at. I was planning on around 78 degrees F, and dropping the temperature around 3 or so degrees at night. Is the temperature fluctuation necessary at all? thanks in advance,
Anthony

Anthony-

Let her fill in the hole and climb up off the soil. I don't know how you have her set up to lay the eggs so that is why I said off the soil! Once you see her off the soil you can remove her and the eggs. Put her back in her cage and dig out the eggs. You should not incubate the eggs with an incubator, room temp in a dark closet will work better and produce stronger offspring. [url=http://www.chameleonnews.com/year2003/mar2003/eggs/egg_incubation.html]HERE[/url} is a good link on eggs, if you have not read it already I recommend you do. You can also take a look around the site and find some other great info. Hope this helps!
