Tegu size: Taz is 4'4", Jazz is about 3 1/2'
Tegu origin: Taz is from agamainternational.com , Jazz is from bluetegu.com
Tegu tameness: Tazz 5,Jazz 4.
Tegu personality: Both are very nice they don't bite, wip, or anything. They don't mind interaction but they don't seek it either. They sometimes do come over to you but it seems like it's out of curiosity. Taz is easy going, Jazz is more independent.

Hey Billyboy,
You bought that tegu from Ben Siegel? In Deerfield? How long ago? I think hes the same tegu i was going to buy. If so, i know its origin.
THanks

BillyBoy Jan 10, 2004 07:35 PM

I got him from Ben at his shop in Deerfield back in the beginning of June of 03. He was the last of a batch of Paraguayans he had in. He was also the biggest of the bunch and was there long after the others were all sold. He was only 14" then and is now over 3.5 feet long. You know about that shipment? Billy

Sorry, If you got him in the beginning of 03, then its not what i thought. If you got him recently, then i would know. They had a couple of nice tegus that somebody sold them because they were moving, and they were extremely friendly Tegus.
Anyway, those guys at ben siegel in deerfield are pretty cool, and know what they are talking about.
Nice to see people on the forum in my area.

Yeah, I think I remember those as well. They were big ones as well, but not as big as that huge male they have now. They are a good bunch over there and their animals are always top-notch.

I posted a forum here about the big male they have there. Hopefully this guy "asucker" buys him. I cant believe that that tegu has not been sold, hes like a puppy. I was originally going to buy him, but i ended up with a hatchling instead.

Blakes_girl Jan 05, 2004 08:57 PM

Tegu Name: Blake and Trinity
Tegu type: Colombian black and white (Blake)and blue (Trinity)
Tegu size: About 3 ft. (Blake) and just a few inches shy of 3
ft. (Trinity)
Tegu origin: Petco (Blake, I was working there at the time and
working with him and I just couldn't let him go)
and Ron and Stella St. Pierre (Trinity)
Tegu tameness: I would have to give Blake a 4 because he's fine
when he's hanging around the apartment with just
me, or when we go out to the pet store for
supplies, but if someone else comes into his
domain, he definitely doesn't like it. Trinity I
would give a 5 because I can let anyone hold her
and she's totally fine.
Tegu personality:Both Blake and Trinity crack me up with some of
the stuff I do. Blake will even climb up onto
the couch with me while I'm watching TV.
Trinity is definitely my little girl. She'll
climb up my legs and up to my neck and just
curl up around me neck. Although she's getting
to the point where she's almost too big to be
doing that.
Tegu picture: I have pictures, but I don't have web space to
host them yet. Hopefully soon.

Tegu size: 18 Inches
Tegu origin: Captive Bred - but Unknown

Tegu Name: Tarzan Spagettio (male) and Duddits (male)
Tegu type: Argentine B&W (Tarzan Spagettio) and Argentine Red (Duddits)
Tegu size: 28" w/ partially regenerated tail (Tarzan) and 19" (Duddits)
Tegu origin: Tarzan Spagettio was rescued from abusive home and Duddits from JLBreeders.com
Tegu tameness: Tarzan Spagettio is a 2, but slowly getting better with constant handling and tlc-Duddits is a 4, he is very handleable, but still a little skittish, getting better with age
Tegu personality: Tarzan Spagettio will eat anything given to him, he is very curious and brazen; does not like being held but responds to voices and food. Duddits is a little more shy, except when it comes to feeding time. He is more affectionate and responds to my voice and my voice alone.
Tegu picture: No longer have them. I had a virus on my pc that wiped everything out.

Name: Tigs (I didn't get to name him. Even though he is mine.)
Type: Argentine Black and White
Origin: Collinsville Pets and Reptiles. No idea where he came from before that.
Size: 15 inches (Probably closer to 18 - 19 if he hadn't lost his tail)
Tameness: 4.5

He won't attempt to bite, he won't hiss, he won't puff up. But when he gets picked up, he's not too happy (As in he'll wiggle around until he gets his entire body supported, which usually means running up my shirt and on to my shoulder.) After that, he's just fine.

Tegu Name: Amika
Tegu type: Adult Female Blue
Tegu size: Roughly 4 ft snout to tip of tail
Tegu origin: FIRE in Orlando last May
Tegu tameness: 5. Has never shown aggression toward myself or anyone
Tegu personality: Likes to do her own thing. Will let you hold her for a little while but will squirm and want to be put down eventually. Doesn't particuarly like being pet like some I've seen here on the forum in the sense that she doesn't come to you for affection. Never has shown any aggression however and has my complete trust. In fact she seems to be completely removed from her environment, nothing scares/spooks her which is why I feel comfortalbe letting her walk around outside without a leash under my supervision. Also she's potty trained to go outside. All in all a great tegu.

Tegu Names: TegTeg (B&W Argentine) and Baby(Red tegu)
Tegu type: White-headed B&W Argentine and red tegu.
Tegu size: The B&W is 41" and the red is between 31" and 33" (won't hold still)
Tegu origin: B&W was from Ron St. Pierre and the red was a rescue of unknown origin (claimed it was bought from a breeder at a show).
Tegu tameness:1,2,3,4,5,1 is a monster and 5 is the dogtame.
TegTeg is a 2 or 3. He'll allow himself to be petted and will climb on your lap if you're sitting on the floor. He'll also approaches curiously when I come to his cage. He hates being held, though, and will death roll like a crocodile and try to bite. Baby is about a 3 or 4. He doesn't like being held much, but he mostly just wiggles and eventually calms down. He does not care to be touched (he was badly neglected by his first owner and was a year old and only about 8 inches long when I got him). He will climb on me if I sit on the floor with him.
Tegu personality: TegTeg is bold and curious and rarely skittish. Baby tends to be somewhat skittish, though he's getting better.
