...a healthy ADULT ball python going off feed, and eventually starving to death? I know I shouldn't worry, but those crazy balls just LOVE to psych out their owners!!

ball pythons stop feeding alot. if it starts to lose wieght, put it in a paper bag with a thawed mouse overnight. if he continues to lose wieght you can feed him a liquid diet via a syringe.
i wouldnt worry until he stops eating for two months
