As promised in the Gargantua Rubbermaids post, here is a picture of the mini rack I made using the Iris Christmas Tree boxes. It's not a very good pic, but it will do.
I built the rack into the stand for my 5' BRB cage. Each box houses one of my Suriname pair. I think I need to increase the size of the vent holes because the boxes stay a little more hiumid than I'd like.
I'd also like to find a better way to heat them. Right now I've got red 100W spots heating the right side of the boxes. It's working fine, but I'd like to find a better way. I use cyprus mulch as bedding so belly heat using heat tape is not an option. I guess I could do back heat using heat tape.
I'm also toying around with the idea of mounting the boxes on heavy duty drawer slides since their size makes them a bit of a pain to get in and out of the rack.
Any heating suggestions or input about the drawer slide idea would be appreciated. Thanks.
